Swimsuit shopping is the only time I truly despair about fashion. Refusing to even enter a dressing room with a bathing suit, I do all my swimwear shopping at home, over the Internet. This season, so far, I have bought and returned about $700 worth of swimsuits. And that is excluding the five suits I bought in the spring anticipating some sort of abdominal transformation that did not happen. I cannot return those.
There is no hiding in a swimsuit–no layering, pulling, holding it in is going to change what’s going on in my post-three-kids body. So I was intrigued–and desperate–when I heard there may be a solution as easy as turning off those harsh dressing room lights.
